‘Friends’ Reunion Finally Takes Place on Recreated Warner Bros. Sets after Years

The long-awaited ‘Friends’ reunion finally took shape with the iconic stars coming together after long years in the recreated set of Monica and Rachel’s apartment.

It was indeed nostalgic to see the famous friends of yesteryears- Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler, and Joey on the same platform once again.

The magic spark of friendship wasn’t lost even after so many years!

“I didn't know what to expect coming into this,” Matt LeBlanc admitted. “I knew it was going to be awesome to see these five people. What I did not take into account was being back on set and being in this environment, and it's pretty cool.”

They fondly reminisced that part of their life when ‘Friends’ transcended from being a successful sitcom to becoming one of the most popular shows of all time.

David Schwimmer pointed out that no one except the six of them will ever know what they went through when they became “stars” overnight.

“Our family couldn’t relate. Our friends — our closest friends — couldn’t relate. They were there for us, but the only people who really knew what it was like were the other five”, he added.

Matthew Perry admitted that he needed the audience to laugh whenever he performed on the sets. It really made him nervous when they didn’t.  That was very important to him!

He said, “At least for me, I thought I was going to die if they didn’t laugh.”

“It’s definitely not healthy, but I sometimes say a line and they don’t laugh and I sweat and if I don’t get the laughter I should have. I’d be nervous.” This revelation came as a surprise to his co-stars though.

Some of them acknowledged that they didn’t see whole seasons of the show however they’ve begun watching the episodes now on streaming platforms with their families.

Lisa Kudrow for her part was frequently and with ease getting back into Phoebe’s character.

The gang burst into laughter when they see unseen behind-the-scenes footage of the show.

In the clip below you can catch Matt Leblanc injuring his shoulder in one of the scenes from an old episode.

Then there’s a montage of ‘Friends’ which shows how the sitcom helped certain fans overcome depression and even ward off suicidal thoughts.

They all agreed that it was nice to get back to the old Warner Bros. sets. The camaraderie between the actors was different when they were left all alone in contrast when they were with others.

Since the show ended this is the second time that the group has got together. It was a 1 hr and 43-minute reunion! The reunion was infused with table reads, trivia games, fashion shows, archive clips, and celebrity interviews.

Executive producers David Crane, Marta Kauffman, and Kevin Bright who were part of the reunion explained how the show was conceived.

“It was an incredible time,” Cox agreed. “Everything came together. We became best friends, the chemistry, the whole thing. It was life-changing and it forever will be -- not just for us but for people who watch it. That's just such a great feeling to carry forever. I'm so grateful, and I love you guys so much.”

Towards the end of ‘Friends: The Reunion’ Courtney Cox declared that the #FriendsReunion will be the last time, the cast will reunite publicly to talk about the show.

That said, the stars are looking forward to spending more time together although not publicly.

Friends: The Reunion is streaming now on HBO Max.
