Active Barbara Bush Dies Smiling

Former US First Lady and mother of former US President George W Bush, Barbara Bush passes away with the message of generosity and happiness. The 92-year-old Barbara Bush was bedridden, but in spite of her ill health, she decided not to continue with the medical treatment rather spend rest of her life with family members. She lived so actively, that the previous night before her death, she took a glass full of bourbon.

At the time of her passing her family members were around as she always wished. According to the family spokesman Jim McGrath It will not surprise those who know her that Barbara Bush has been a rock in the face of her failing health, worrying not for herself - thanks to her abiding faith - but for others. She is surrounded by a family she adores and appreciates the many kind messages and especially the prayers she is receiving”.

The wife of former US President George H.W. Bush, Barbara Bush, has been suffering from congestive heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for past few years.

Barbara Bush has always been a strong woman. She was far ahead of her time. She was more determined a clear-sighted lady and therefore may be her family members used to call her “The Enforcer,” a word which is believed to be coined by her son, the former President George W. Bush. She was always very clear about what she said and what she decided. She was the only woman since Abigail Adams, who was also the wife of one president and mother to another.

In 1990, during the commencement address at Wellesley College, which reflected her priorities of life, she said, “Cherish your human connections, your relationships with family and friends. At the end of life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a child, a friend or a parent.”

In last few years of her life, the strong woman, has been seen using a walker and carrying an oxygen cylinder while walking. She was hospitalised for a brief period of time last year after she complained of bronchitis.

Barbara Bush wrote an article about her health, which was published in her alumnae magazine of her alma mater, Smith College. Where she wittingly wrote, “I have had great medical care and more operations than you would believe, I’m not sure God will recognize me, I have so many new body parts”.

She also wrote about her long time marriage with the Senior Bush in the Magazine and how their love is still very live, “I am still old and still in love with the man I married 72 years ago.”

Barbara Bush married George H.W. Bush on 6th January 1945. The couple has six children, including former US President George W Bush and former Governor Jeff Bush. They also had a daughter named Robin, who died of leukemia at a very early age of 3 years.
