J K Rowling Tweets a Technique that Helped Her Overcome Coronavirus Symptoms

British author J K Rowling tweeted today that she has “fully recovered” from all the symptoms of suspected COVID- 19 after two weeks. The author had symptoms of COVID-19 however she didn’t test.

She has been taking advice from her husband Neil Murray who is a doctor in the UK. The author decided to share a technique that doesn’t have any side effects and is highly recommended by her doctor husband.

This technique helped her manage severe symptoms. By practicing this technique in the early stages, there would be an early recovery.

The ‘Harry Potter’ series author tweeted, “Thank you for your kind and lovely messages! I really am completely recovered and wanted to share a technique that's recommended by doctors, costs nothing, has no nasty side effects but could help you/your loved ones a lot, as it did me. Stay safe, everyone (sic).”

Below is the video:

“Five deep breaths in and each time you will hold the breath for 5 seconds, then breathe out. On the 6th breath, you will take it in and you will have a big cough covering your mouth. You will do this twice and then lay flat on your front, taking slightly deeper breaths for 10 minutes,” said the doctor.

After completing this cycle, the doctor advises to lay in the front and not back as the majority of your lung is on your back and not in front. By lying on the back you will be closing a majority of the smaller airways which is not good for patients with the infection.

J K Rowling’s tweet has also been tweeted by actress and author Twinkle Khanna on her Instagram handle.

Meanwhile, Rowling also announced that “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” which is the first book in the series will be made available for free as an eBook and audiobook throughout April. This initiative had been taken to help parents and teachers entertain children who are spending time at home during the lockdown.
