$17 Million Stiletto Heels on Sale in Dubai

A Dubai-based shoemaker has launched the world’s most expensive pair of shoes with a $17 million price tag, gold, silk and hundreds of diamonds are used to make the Stiletto Heels, which is up for sale in Dubai now. Earlier Debbie Wingham high heels were regarded as the most expensive footwear costing with price tags at $15.1 million.

Jada Dubai, a design house has recently launched the pair of gold patent leather stilettos trimmed with a row of sparkling diamonds. Created the luxury footwear over a period of nine months, each shoe features a crowning jewel, which comprises of a round, 15-carat flawless D diamond near the pointed toe. Though now the one of its kind shoes are available in European size 36 but can be custom made, according to the size of the client, after he or she pays the full retail price.

Jada Dubai will also launch three more limited edition creations, which are made with diamonds, gold, rubies and pearls. The three new collections are the Diamond Pearl sandals, going to cost $25,000, The Ruby Stilettos featuring rubies, gold and diamonds costing $27,000 and the Diamond and Gold stilettos which costs $17,000.

Maria Majari, who is the co-founder and creative director of Jada Dubai and who has designed the shoes said, “Jada Dubai designs only shoes with diamonds. For the launch of our second collection we wanted to create a piece that is truly unique in the world using very rare diamonds. We signed up a collaboration with Passion Jewellers for this project that has provided us with the rarest diamonds we were looking for”.

About the making of the shoe, which took 9 months to complete, Maria said, “We started this project right after Jada Dubai's first collection launched in January 2018. The time required it was 9 months, as we had to choose the perfect diamonds for such an exclusive pair of shoes”.

Meanwhile, Hemant Karamchandani, Chief Executive of Passion Jewellers, the company which supplied the jewels for the shoes says, “Dubai is the city of millionaires and billionaires... we see it as a potential market, along with the entire (Gulf) region”.

They also decided to launch the most expensive footwear in Dubai because of two reasons, the product identifies with the glamorous city of Dubai and both of the companies which made the shoes, are also from the UAE.

Dubai is the hub for Gulf fashion and is also the home to the biannual Arab Fashion Week, which has seen the number of tourists growing over the last few years, with more than 16 million people visiting the emirate only last year. Dubai is also known for its unique developments. Dubai has the world’s best shopping malls, artificial Palm Islands and of course the world’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa.
