After the presidential elections in the US, External Minister S Jaishankar indicated that certain developments could occur in India and that the relationship between the US and India could be enhanced. Donald Trump has been elected for the second time in consecutive years.

With the win of Donald Trump, S Jaishankar sees certain areas of development such as supply chain, talent mobility, Geopolitical development, and digitization. The global supply chain to improve as India is rich in certain resources for which re-ordering of the supply chain system can be restored which has been facing hurdles since the beginning of the pandemic.

Both countries witness political unrest leading to changes in the policies and protocols. The US-India relationship to help the technology for both nations as a collaboration of both countries can help in enhancing the prospects and drive economic viability in the country. S Jaishankar stressed the importance of bilateral relationships among the nations as both of them are rich in skills and technology.

In terms of talent mobility, S Jaishankar highlighted the impact of globalization and that skilled workers will be needed in any part of the world. "Even if there is re-globalization, the demographic unevenness is beginning to bite us. The global workplace doesn’t mean that talent alone has to move. Businesses can move as well... The US under Trump will make a distinction in immigration and mobility,”

He also highlighted the development in the sphere of education and skills. He claimed that India has advanced and expanded the educational institutes to almost double the capacity. Also, some students have the opportunity to visit institutes in the US which have enhanced the talent mobility and opportunity in the international countries including the US.
