‘Fauda’ Actor Idan Amedi Gets Seriously Injured while Fighting in Gaza

Singer, Songwriter and Actor Idan Amedi who became popular in Israel for his performance in Netflix show ‘Fauda’ has been seriously injured during an operation against Hamas at Gaza. 

Amedi was injured in Gaza’s Khan Younis, the Israeli Embassy in Greece said in an online post. 

“Wishing a speedy recovery to the great musician, singer and #Fauda actor Idan Amedi who was severely injured in battle in Khan Yunis in Gaza”, they wrote. 

“Idan Amedi, one of Fauda's actors, has been seriously injured in a battle in Gaza. We pray and pray for your speedy recovery,”  an Israeli diplomat Avia Levi posted on X.

Now, Idan’s father has confirmed the injury and informed the Walla news site that his life is no longer in danger. 

He was airlifted to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan on Monday where he underwent a surgery. 

Idan Amedi was interviewed hours before he was injured where he spoke about demolishing tunnels. “It’s crazy, what they built here. The operation here is on a very central route. We found kilometres of tunnels here, weaponry, even special weaponry. We’ve been busy the past two days trying to destroy it,” Amedi told Israel’s Channel 12. 

Idan joined the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) after the war broke out on October 7. 

Coincidentally, in the  Netflix show ‘Fauda’, Idan plays a soldier who is also part of the elite IDF unit that operates in the palestinian areas of West Bank and the Gaza Strip. 

‘Fauda’ means chaos in Arabic. The name draws inspiration from Israel's counterterrorism unit.
