‘Glee’ Co-Stars Remember and Dedicate a Touching Tribute to Naya Rivera
‘Glee’ actors have penned down a touching tribute to actor Naya Rivera who has become a hero of sorts for saving her drowning 4 year old son while losing her own life in the bargain.

The mother and son duo had gone boating at Lake Piru, North West of Los Angeles. She was reported missing on Wednesday. After a long search, rescuers found her son all alone with his life jacket on the boat.
When they questioned him he revealed that his mother “boosted him on to the deck from behind” and when he “looked back he saw her disappear under the surface of the water.” The brave mother made sure that she saved her beloved son whatsoever.
“The cause of death is drowning, and the manner of death is accident,” said the Ventura County’s Medical Examiner.
Naya Rivera’s co-stars in ‘Glee’ wrote, “Naya wasn't a series regular when we cast her on Glee. She didn't have more than a few lines in the pilot. But it didn't take more than an episode or two for us to realize that we had lucked into finding one of the most talented, special stars we would ever have the pleasure of working with. She could move between being scary tough and deeply vulnerable with ease. She was a joy to write for, a joy to direct and a joy to be around.”
The actors described her as a “real pro” who was “always on time” and “always knew her lines.” They further added, “She was warm and caring and fiercely protective of the rest of the cast. She was tough and demanding. She was fun. She was kind. She was generous.”
Rivera, 33, began her career as a child artist, who acted, modelled, and appeared in TV adverts. Her ticket to fame however was playing the character of Santana Lopez in the musical comedy series- ‘Glee.’
Santana was a typical high school cheerleader who was very mean and loved boys. She struggled with her sexuality and her inability to come out of the closet.
‘Glee’ star Kevin Mchale believes that Naya and Cory Monteith who was her co-star in ‘Glee’ and a best friend shared a special connection in both life and death. “These 2, in many ways, were the male and female versions of one another”, he said.
He added that they were both “so nice, cared deeply, were stupidly talented, the most fun, and really really good people.” Cory Monteith accidentally passed away due to “mixed drug toxicity” on 13 July 2013.
Naya Rivera’s body was found on the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s death which according to Kevin is “no coincidence” and he’s also thankful that she got the “beautiful little boy” back on the boat. Naya Rivera’s brave story stands as the epitome of a mother’s love which is of the highest degree towards her child.
