According to Wade, she has held a trademark for “Confessions of a Showgirl” since 2015. She believes Swift’s album title, The Life of a Showgirl, is strikingly similar and could confuse audiences. As a result, she has filed a lawsuit in a California court.

Wade is accusing Swift and her music company of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and misleading branding. She argues that after years of building her identity, a global star using a similar name could overshadow her work.
