The first day of their Australian tour ended with a Sydney reception hosted by Australia's Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove. The grand reception was held at the grand Admiralty House overlooking the city's beautiful opera house. Meghan Markle began speaking to TV personality Eddie Woo at the reception and the conversation led to towards parenthood. Eddie Woo was discussing how his children need a lot of energy, that’s when the Duchess of Sussex finally revealed that she and Harry were excited to join the club.

“We're ready! We're excited to join the club”, said Markle. Harry found the occasion to be apt to announce the good news to the audience and addressed the guests by saying “Thank you for the incredibly warm welcome and the chance to meet so many Aussies from all walks of life. And we also genuinely couldn't think of a better place to announce the upcoming baby, be it a boy or a girl.” Meghan Markle’s neatly tailored dress also gave out her pregnancy as her small baby bump could be easily seen.

After learning about the good news, Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove remarked “You're almost a son of Australia,” he said of Prince Harry's multiple visits to the country. “Your bond with the people of this nation is very special.” He then looked towards Markle and said, “And now we have you here so we can adopt you as well.” He also presented the couple with Ugg boots and a stuffed Kangaroo with a joey in the pouch with Meghan declaring it as ‘Our first baby gift.’

Meghan Markle also spoke to Australian singer Mary Higgins who was with her own nine-week-old baby named Lunar. Both the ladies got engaged in deep talk most probably revolving around parenting and babies whilst baby lunar continued enjoying her sound sleep. At the grand reception, the Royal couple got the chance to enjoy the company of Aussies from all walks of life such as charity, local business, arts, sports and entertainment. According to insiders, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are happier than ever to welcome this new phase of life and baby Sussex is expecting to arrive sometime in spring next year.
