1814 Crore Drug Busted in Bhopal. MD Drugs Exposed by Officials
1814 crore drug busted in Bhopal, 907 kg of MD seized along with 1500 Kg of raw materials.
Drugs have become a common issue in India where close to 30 percent of the population is under the influence of drugs. In one of the biggest drug busts, Gujrat ATS and Narcotic Control Bureau of Delhi. The duo performed a joint operation in a manufacturing plan based out of Ahmedabad.
According to Harsh Sanghvi, the operation was a source of tips received by both agencies post which they were able to bust one of the biggest rackets of the India. The manufacturing unit was discovered in the Bagroda industrial estate The factory was capable of producing close to 25 KG of MD every day and had a very developed manufacturing unit, constructed over the past few years.
According to sources, ATS Delhi has been observing and monitoring the activities of the manufacturing unit for more than a month. After the verification and confirmation, the Narcotics Control Bureau was infirmed and in a joint operation, the source of the drug manufacturing was busted.
The authorities seized close to 907 kg of MD in solid and liquid forms. Moreover, close to 1500 kg of raw materials have been seized which is used in the production of drugs. Heaters, motors, and other grinding equipment have been discovered. It is assumed that the cost of the entire production facility would be close to 1800 crores.
Two individuals namely, Amit Chaturvedi and Sanyal Prakash Bane were arrested from the facility. Bane was also arrested previously in the year 2017 where he was apprehended because of 1 kg of MD for which he also served close to 5 years in jail.
Harsh Sanghvi appraised the role of Gujrat ATS and NCB Delhi in a Twitter post. “Kudos to Gujarat ATS and NCB (Ops), Delhi, for a massive win in the fight against drugs. Recently, they raided a factory in Bhopal and seized MD and materials used to manufacture MD, with a staggering total value of ₹1814 crores.”
