4 Add-On You Must Buy When Buying Vehicle Insurance for Your New Car

Insurance policies have forceful and irrelevant add-ons. Adding these 4 add-ons will help you stay safe and keep your car healthy for a long time.

4 Add-On You Must Buy When Buying Vehicle Insurance for Your New Car

As mandated by the Indian Government any car, bike, or heavy vehicle with a motorised engine is required to have moor insurance which protects the personal and second-party damage. This is a crucial aspect when it comes to road safety. However, many insurance companies add irrelevant add-ons to the policy which is barely used but can cost way higher. At times, the insurer is not aware of the ad and they are forced on the customer. This increases the overall value of the insurance, keeping the value of the car lowered. The following are some of the add-ons that you should consider when buying a car and refrain from anything except these.

Engine protection- The engine is the heart of the car and any form of damage to the engine can burn a hole in the pocket. Apart from the repair costs, there can be additional costs depending on the spare. Moreover, once the engine is harmed, there can be connected issues with the engine in the future which can further drain finances from you. Hence, it is recommended to get engine protection at a minimal cost that can save the car engine throughout.

Zero depreciation- This is again an important add-on for insurance. Imagine you are driving your car and you are rear-ended by another vehicle. You reach the service station and get the car fixed under the insurance policy. When you receive the value, you see that only a percentage of the cost is being sponsored by the insurance company. Thus, zero depreciation as an add-on allows the customer to settle the full amount through the insurance company without any depreciation from the cost.

No claim bonus- Many customers do not drive the car much for which they have minimal to no claims of their insurance. In such cases, no claim bonus will allow the customers to get the next premium at a lesser cost. This is a system where the insurer charges less for not utilizing the policy. No claim bonus is often not added to the policy hence, this should be added to the policy so that with age the value of the insurance policy can be reduced.

Roadside assistance- In case of a breakdown or a technical fault in the car, the insurance company sends a towing van and mechanic to the breakdown spot. Or else the customer has to pay the full cost of the breakdown including the towing van and mechanic. Roadside assistance is one of the best features as it also reaches remote locations and the entire responsibility is of the insurance company and the car maker.
