5 Terrorists Were Killed Near Kulgam As Forces Started Search Operations after A Tip

Terrorist attacks have become quite common over the past few days where frequent mob attacks and terrorist hideouts have been identified. Moreover, infiltration of the terrorists in the Indian land has led to a cruel process creating challenges among the security forces. In yet another search operation, Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir killed 5 terrorists in the encounter.

As per the reports, the terrorists have been hiding in the bushes of Behibagh. On Wednesday night a search operation was conducted where the terrorists opened fire on the security forces conducting the search operation. In return fire, the security officials were able to target the terrorists and eliminate them.

“On 19 December 24, based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by the Indian Army & Jammu Kashmir Police at Kader, Kulgam. Suspicious activity was observed by vigilant troops and on being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate and heavy volumes of fire. Own troops effectively retaliated,” read the Chinar troops of the Indian Army.

Another incident unfolded when a terrorist belonging to the Lashkar-e-taiba opened fire

In a construction site. Similarly, the terrorist was killed in the retaliation fire. However close to 7 people lost their lives on the site were contractors, labourers, and staff. The terrorist started firing soon after the workers returned to the work site.

The constant threat to the security forces is a challenge as unexpected events occur. The infiltration frequency has also increased over the past few years making way for more advanced combat strategies and effective border security.

The June 9 incident in Raesi was also one of the major security breaches when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims which fell into the valley after the fire was opened. It is considered one of the deadly and most hostile killings witnessed by the security forces.

Indian security forces are trying every bit to ensure safety and security in the region. On November 9th Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Indian Army executed terrorists for whom they had intelligence. They were successful in busting a terrorist hideout based on the intelligence gathered. The collaborative effort of the Police and the Indian Army proved its safety and security measures for the forces.

In July 2024, close to 55 people were injured including civilians as terrorists had opened fire. The incident happened in Doda District and is believed to be the 10th attack of the year. The year 2024 witnessed a huge spur in terrorist attacks while negating threats at the same time. Thus, the security forces have been doubled in many high-risk zones so that safety and security can be enhanced.
