A Grandson’s Emotional Tribute: Vardhaan Puri Remembers Amrish and Urmila Puri’s Enduring Love
Vardhaan Puri shared a heartfelt Instagram post remembering his late grandparents, Amrish and Urmila Puri, capturing a tender memory from days before the actor’s death, reflecting on love, loss, and legacy.
Mumbai: Vardhaan puri, grandson of legendary actor Amrish Puri, recently took to instagram to share an emotional tribute and fond memories of his beloved grandparents, just days before the veteran actor passed away.
Posting a series of timeless black-and-white photographs featuring Amrish Puri and his wife Urmila, Vardhaan gave followers a glimpse into their deep bond. In the pictures, the Mr. India star is seen posing gracefully with his wife, reflecting a quiet dignity that often escapes the public eye.
In his heartfelt caption, Vardhaan recounted a poignant morning in January 2005. He remembered entering his grandparents’ room early to borrow a pair of gym socks from his grandfather. What he witnessed in that moment stayed etched in his memory forever.
He saw his grandparents fast asleep, their hands delicately intertwined, their breathing calm and synchronised. Watching their serene expressions, Vardhaan became suddenly aware of their growing fragility. The realisation that time was fleeting and unpredictable overwhelmed him with fear and vulnerability.
The Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story actor also paid tribute to his late grandmother, expressing deep admiration and yearning. “I love you, Dadi. 8 years since you are gone, but there's not a single moment that we as a family have not felt your presence in spirit,” he wrote.
He elaborated with tender details: “I can hear you sing lullabies in your sweet voice every time I cannot sleep. The clinking sound of your bangles never leaves my ears, especially when I feel lonely. Your nails painted in your favourite shade of pink still tickle my back all night when I need comforting.”
Vardhaan described her as the “real HERO” of the family, echoing his grandfather’s sentiments. He wrote that her nurturing spirit and boundless affection shaped the very essence of their household.
The post included a touching reflection: “A few days before Dadu passed away... their hands were intertwined… they both didn’t look as young as they used to… and the thought of losing them scared the living daylights out of me. I kept staring at them.”
He concluded with a heartfelt note: “In that moment it hit me that life is oh so temporary and unpredictable. But love will stay forever. 1st July will always be bittersweet for my family. I hope I make you proud everyday, Dadi.—Your Raja”
