A Peek at the Royal Reception That Took Place in Frogmore House

After tying the knot in a fairytale-like ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, the newly married- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were again spotted heading for their private reception which was held at the Frogmore House. Meghan looked glamorous in a white streamlined Stella McCartney dress while Prince Harry looked dapper in a slick tux. They took their seats in a getaway car- a sleek Jaguar convertible. The all-private reception that was held in Frogmore house was hosted by none other than Prince Charles. The reception was attended by a smaller number of 200 people that included some of Meghan and Prince Harry’s closest friends.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose Whitney Houston’s 1987 hit “I Want to Dance with Somebody,” as their first song. This song has a special meaning in Meghan’s life and therefore the duo decided to opt for this melody. In a 2016 interview, Meghan Markle had accepted that it was her ‘Happy song’ though we are not yet sure of the special significance, the song holds to her life. The newly married and much-relaxed couple must have certainly stolen the show by grooving to this peppy track during their first dance on Saturday evening.

A source revealed to Daily Mail, that Prince Harry gave a ‘naughty speech’ that got tongues wagging in the reception. Prince William is said to have joined forces along with Prince Harry’s best buddies- Tom Inskip and Tom Van Straubenzee. But the details of their speech remain unknown as of now. Meghan Markle also gave a speech in which she thanked the Royals for making her a part of the family.

After his afternoon performance, singer Elton John gave a medley of four songs namely “Your song”, “Tiny Dancer”, “Circle of life” and “I’m still standing.” It’s believed that John performed after Harry turned to his guests asking “Can anyone play the Piano?” Famous DJ Sam Tootle got the party moving by playing thumping music that quickly coerced people to quickly come onto the dance floor and experiment with their dance moves. The music played was from 1960s soul classics to dance hits from the 80s that included Prince Harry’s personal favorite tracks.

The guests were treated to midnight snacks of “dirty burgers and candyfloss” and one of the cocktails in the reception was named “When Harry Met Meghan.” The cocktail was a mix of ginger and rum; a nod to Harry’s red hair. And what’s more- the guests didn’t want to bid farewell to the wedding celebrations. A group of guests traveled back to London for an “after-after party” which took place at the famous “Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone” and a separate group of revelers headed to a soundproofed private home in Chelsea. Now that’s an apt way of concluding the much-talked-about royal wedding celebrations.
