Actor Tom Hanks and Wife Rita Tests Positive for Coronavirus

The coronavirus or COVID 19 does not discriminate, in its journey of more than three months, it had infected anyone whether be a celebrity, star, politician or just a commoner. Recently Hollywood star Tom Hanks and his actress wife Rita have declared that they have been tested positive for coronavirus. Presently the couple is in Australia from where they have twitted about their status and said that they are now under observation. 

Hollywood star Tom Hanks said he and his wife Rita Wilson, both 63 years old are down with a fever as they are in Australia, therefore, they are surrendering themselves to be isolated and monitored. 

Tom Hank wrote on his Twitter and Instagram along with a photograph of a surgical glove placed inside a biohazard trash bag. He wrote, “We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. In order to play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive”.

Adding that the star couple will now be isolated and monitored the actor further wrote, “What to do next? Medical Officials have certain protocols that must be followed. Hanks now will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety require. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”

Tom Hanks thus become the first major Hollywood star to publicly declare that he has the virus, that is sweeping across the world, infecting more than 1.25 lakh people in 100-plus countries and killing more than 4,000 people.

According to a report published in the Deadline Hollywood report, the Elvis film directed by Baz Luhrmann recently features Tom Hanks as the legendary singer’s longtime companion and manager Colonel Tom Parker.

In Australia, where Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were tested positive, it has so far recorded 136 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and three deaths due to the virus. 

Recently the government of the country has unveiled a massive spending plan of US $11 billion to design and curb the economic impact in the country because of the coronavirus pandemic and to avert the country’s first-ever recession in 29 years. 

 

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced nearly an Australian $18 billion packages which are equivalent to just under one percent of the country’s GDP and the amount will primarily be targeted at businesses.
