Actress Emma Corrin to be Cast as Princess Diana in Season 4 of ‘The Crown’
The actress shared the news on Instagram writing she’s “overjoyed over the moon and incredibly honoured” to join the cast.
Actress Emma Corrin, 23, will be cast as Lady Diana in the fourth season of the critically acclaimed series ‘The Crown.’ Netflix confirmed this decision in a tweet and it has informed audiences that the filming of the new season would begin this year.
Speaking of her role in the series Emma Corrin said, “I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice.”

As per reports, Emma Corrin has impressed Casting Directors with her acting skills. The team of ‘The Crown’ has decided to cast her in season 4 instead of upcoming season 3 which is to be screened later this year. At present, she has 60 followers on Instagram which is most likely to increase once she’ll portray the female icon of all time- The Princess of Wales.
In ‘The Crown’ new stars play the part of royals by replacing old ones every two seasons. Emma Corrin will join Olivia Colman who replaces Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth. Helena Bonham will play Princess Margaret.
This young actress is relatively new to the world of acting who recently graduated from Cambridge University. She hails from Tunbridge Wells in Kent. She’s soon going to make her debut in two projects- ‘Misbehaviour’ and another Epix’s Batman-inspired series. In ‘Misbehaviour’ which is yet to be released, a group of women disrupt the 1970 Miss World beauty contest in London. The movie also stars Keira Knightley, Jessie Buckley, Keeley Hawes and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
From her Instagram post, it is clearly evident that Emma is thrilled to portray Diana’s character on screen. The series which Corrin will be a part of will particularly focus on Princess Diana’s controversial marriage to Prince Charles from 1981 to 1996. It would be interesting to witness how the young talent would unfold Diana’s captivating persona and her turbulent life when season 4 of ‘The Crown’ hits screens. Stay tuned.
