After ‘Kabir Singh’ Shahid Kapoor Roped in for Another Remake, ‘Jersey’!
Shahid Kapoor has been confirmed for ‘Jersey’ and after ‘Kabir Singh’, it’s his second star venture in the Hindi remake of a Telugu sports drama.
It’s confirmed! Shahid Kapoor will be starring as the male lead in the Hindi remake of ‘Jersey’. And after ‘Kabir Singh’, this is Shahid’s second on screen star venture in a Telugu to Hindi big screen drama! Star actor Shahid Kapoor turns out to be the recent favourite of remakers. For, the ‘Jab We Met’ actor is yet to be seen in another remake! ‘Jersey’ that released in 2019 itself, wishes to spread its wings in Bollywood, and score high, of course, after its tremendous success in Telugu film industry. On the other hand, Shahid’s 2019 released ‘Kabir Singh’ attained a great deal of fortune all over, which, as a matter of fact was also a Hindi remake of another Telugu blockbuster, ‘Arjun Reddy’. Well, you might find this coincidence amusing, but the male lead of ‘Jersey’ is also called ‘Arjun’! Hmm… can we call that a ‘Kismat Konnection’? ‘Jersey’ Hindi remake will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original version. Set in the 80s, the film revolves around a gifted cricketer, who even after falling victim to sports politics and earning professional failure returns to the game in his late thirties to represent the national team and gift his son the national team jersey. The sports drama had Nani playing the protagonist, and Shraddha Srinath as his on-screen love interest. ‘Jersey’ Hindi remake hasn’t declared its female lead yet.
