After Priyanka, Shruti Haasan Is All Set to Make Her American Debut with TV Series ‘Treadstone’
Haasan will be playing a young woman by the name of Nira Patel who is a waitress. The show will also feature Michelle Forbes, Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston and Tess Haubrich.
Shruti Haasan has ultimately got her big break on an international platform. She announced the good news on her Instagram account on Thursday. The actress will soon be seen in an American TV series titled ‘Treadstone’ which is based on the ‘Bourne series.’

She gave a sneak peek on what the series will be all about in her Instagram post. Haasan will be playing a young woman by the name of Nira Patel who is a waitress however her profession only acts as a cover for her dangerous profession. She leads a double life as a trained assassin.
The show will also feature Michelle Forbes, Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston and Tess Haubrich. The series will showcase the fictional CIA Black-Ops program, the same program that created the spy- Jason Bourne played by Matt Damon.
The shooting for the series is in progress in Budapest however Shruti will shoot all her scenes in India. Speaking of her role as a super-assassin, Shruti says that she has to undergo rigorous “physical training worshops” to gear up for the series. “I’ve always performed my own stunts. [Treadstone] will be on another level obviously,” she adds.
Though the series caters to the American market, Shruthi is excited that Indian viewers can conveniently make use of the digital streaming options to grab their portion of the series.
Shruti does respect Priyanka Chopra who made her successful American debut with ‘Quantico’ however she admitted that she will follow her own footsteps and not take advice from actors who’ve travelled the same path.
