The makers of Ponniyin Selvan PS-I  have released a new poster where Aishwarya looks royal and stunning as the “Queen of Pazhuvoor.” 

Draped in an orange saree, adorning heavy neck jewellery, armlets, and a red bindi on her forehead, the actress depicts a quintessential Indian queen. 

Aishwarya is playing the character of Nandini.

"Vengeance has a beautiful face! Meet Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor. PS1 releasing in theatres on 30th September in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada," the post read.

The epic period drama was shot in various places in India and part of it in Thailand.

The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel Ponniyen Selvan and is written by Ratnam along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan.

Set in the 10th century the movie revolves around the Chola empire. The plot revolves around Arulmozhi Varman who eventually came to be known as “Raja Raja Chola”; the most powerful king of his time. 

Queen Nandini is the antagonist in the film and no matter how ingenuous she appears, her character has streaks of a dark personality. She is the wife of the commander of the Chola Army, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar. 

Besides Aishwarya, names like  Vikram, Karthi, Jayaram Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Lal and others make up the cast of the film. 

A R Rehman is the man behind the music score in this flick whilst Lyca productions and Madras Talkies are the production companies behind this high budget movie. 

Made on a budget of Rs 500 crore PS-I is one of the most expensive films in India. The adventure-filled movie that is arousing curiosity among movie buffs is all set to hit the silver screen on 30 September 2022.
