All-Female Road Trip Film Jee Le Zaraa Resumes Progress After Long Halt

Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated film Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, is finally back on track after facing prolonged delays. The female-centric road trip drama, announced in 2021, had been stalled for months, sparking speculation that it had been shelved.

The shooting of the film was delayed due to several hurdles. The primary reason for the delay was the conflicting schedules of the actresses—especially Priyanka Chopra, who had multiple global commitments. In addition to this, Alia and Katrina also embraced motherhood recently, further complicating the coordination of dates.

Farhan Akhtar stated that the actors’ schedules were the main reason for the hold-up, but everything has now been resolved. As per a report in Filmfare, Farhan described the entire process as “exhausting.”

“To be honest, it was traumatic trying to get the actors’ dates. But we’ve sorted all that out. We’ll start soon…”

Furthermore, Farhan Akhtar and co-writers Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar were searching for co-actors who could match the caliber of the leading actresses, which added to the delay.

The original idea was pitched by Priyanka Chopra, who had been carrying it in her mind for a long time. She called Katrina and Alia and had a long telephonic discussion about the concept even before Farhan Akhtar joined the project.

Jee Le Zaraa focuses on female camaraderie and will most likely be made in the vein of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Chahta Hai. It has been a long time since Bollywood produced a film with an all-female star cast.

With the scheduling issues finally resolved, production is expected to begin soon, marking the return of a rare all-female Bollywood ensemble on the big screen.
