Amitabh Bachchan Cancels His Sunday Meet with Fans in Jalsa Due to Health Reasons

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan couldn’t greet his friends and followers outside his Jalsa home this Sunday. It is customary for the actor to meet his fans outside his Jalsa home and he even posts about it on his Instagram account.

Citing health reasons in a tweet Mr. Bachchan excused himself. He tweeted that he’s “in pain” although there was nothing to worry about.

Here’s the tweet below:

“T 3154 - All Ef and well wishers .. not doing the Sunday meet at Jalsa Gate this evening ..”

Bachchan’s followers make it a point to meet their idol outside Jalsa every Sunday while the megastar stands on a pedestal in the premises and interacts with them every week.

Even though the Bollywood star began his acting journey way back in 1969, he continues to enjoy the same level of fame even now. He’s considered one of the busiest actors of Bollywood till date.

Almost Fatal Intestinal Injury

While filming a scene for ‘Coolie’ on 26 July 1982 in the University Campus in Bangalore, the actor had a near fatal intestinal injury. The scene required him to fall on the table and then to the ground. Unfortunately, when he fell on the table, the end of the table cut his abdomen resulting in a ruptured spleen. He had to go through emergency treatment as he lost a lot of blood. Post this injury, he remained in the hospital for many months sometimes having near-death experiences.

Amitabh’s character was supposed to die in ‘Coolie’ but as the actor miraculously cheated death in real life, director Manmohan Desai decided to make changes to the script. He made Amitabh’s character live and the movie went on to become a blockbuster partly because of the much-publicized accident. Only an individual with a strong mind and will power could have come out alive from such an unfortunate incident.

Later, he was also diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis a neuromuscular disease that affects eyes, face and other important functioning of the body.

Despite the fatal accident and battling other health conditions as a result of it, the actor always bounced back stronger than before. Without a doubt, the talented actor is highly resilient and displays high levels of positivity during challenging times.

Recently while shooting for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, Amitabh Bachchan fell ill again. He updated on his blog, “I am getting my team of Doctors in tomorrow morning to fiddle around with my body and set me up again. I will rest and keep informed in the process.” He also posted, “It is not my age to do all this but our director asked us to do so I did it. There is no part of the body that has not been broken and there is no doctor that I haven't met. There is not much improvement.”

The actor needs to be appreciated for his regular posts on his whereabouts and health condition on his blog.  His actions display love and dedication towards his loyal fans. We wish the ‘angry young man’ a speedy recovery and many more years of success.
