Anora Sweeps The Oscars with Five Awards, While Emilia Perez Earns 13 Nominations

The 97th Academy Awards took place on Monday morning at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The star-studded ceremony was hosted by Conan O’Brien. Emilia Perez topped the charts, walking away with 13 nominations. The film won two awards for best supporting actress and best original song.

Sean Baker’s romantic drama Anora emerged as the ceremony’s biggest winner. It took home five awards; Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Screenplay.

Adrien Brody won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist and Mickey Madison won Best Actress for her role in Anora.

Zoe Saldana won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Perez, Kieran Culkin won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his work on A Real Pain.

The Brutalist went home with three awards — Wicked and Dune: Part Two each received two.
