APJ House on Fire, Another Kolkata High Rise in Flames, Breaking News
Apeejay House in Park Street, Kolkata, is on fire. Disaster management team is on spot.
Fire broke out at the Apeejay House, a high-rise building in the park street area of Kolkata.
The eight-storey building adjacent to Park Hotel is owned by Apeejay Surrendra Group.
Several companies have their offices at the building, and as per sources, all have been evacuated.
The fire was spotted in the morning, and according to many, it may have originated in the server room, on the 5th floor. The fire alarm rang at 11 am.
As per Twitter updates, 10 fire engines are already on spot.
The disaster management team has reached the location. No report of casualties yet.
The DCP Traffic Police tweeted, "Due to a fire incident on Park Street, traffic is slow on the same towards J.L. Nehru Road." The mishap might also affect the traffic around.
