Apple TV is Live Now in India and Across the World
Apple has announced the launching of Apple TV+ (Plus) service and seven months after it is a reality. Starting from November 1, the users will be able to access Apple TV+ across the globe, including India.
In the month of March this year, Apple has announced the launching of Apple TV+ (Plus) service and seven months after it is a reality. Starting from November 1, the users will be able to access Apple TV+ across the globe, including India. Apple TV is now live in over 100 countries and regions.
As with the launch, Apple TV+ brings some popular movies, shows and original Television programs for the viewers. One best thing is the service is not limited to Apple devices, but the users can avail the service from some Android smart TV as well. But the sad part is Android phone users will not be able to get access to Apple TV+. But the company has informed that in the future more Android smart TVs will get Apple TV+ support.
The shows on offer at present range across various genres like Drama, Horror, Comedy, and others for the users. Though, Apple TV app that has been around for a while now but TV+ has been designed in a way so that personalized recommendations for movies and TV shows can be offered to the users. The recommendations are based on the user’s search on iTunes and other such applications.
The Apple TV+ service is readily available on the Apple TV app and on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and other platforms. It will also be available on tv.apple.com at a monthly subscription of Rs 99 with a seven-day free trial. Starting today, if a customer purchase iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac, he or she will get one year of Apple TV+ for free.
Through its Family Sharing feature, six family members can share one Apple TV+ subscription. After the completion of the free 1-year, the users must subscribe to the use of Apple TV+.
With the launch of the TV+ streaming service by Apple, it is very clear that the company is going to take on the likes of other existing premium subscription streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and others.
In India, at present, the web streaming service Netflix offers four plans Rs 199/- a mobile monthly plan that is limited to smartphone and tablet users only and which supports only one screen at a time. The other three plans that Netflix offers in India are a basic plan that costs around Rs 499/- per month, a standard plan that costs Rs 649/- per month and a premium plan that costs around Rs 799/- per month.
Now the question is, will Apple TV+ be as successful as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video (in India) that offer a large variety of Indian original shows, in order to reach more and more users. Recently Netflix has launched a cheap monthly plan of Rs 199/- in India and it has claimed that the plan has received an overwhelming response in the country, which is also the world’s biggest market. Now it is for all of us to see how Apple TV+ works in the country known for its diversity of tastes.
