Ariana Grande Startled as Social Media Creator Storms Wicked Premiere
Ariana Grande was confronted by a repeat prankster at the Wicked Singapore premiere, leading to his arrest and a nine-day jail sentence.
Ariana Grande faced an unexpected disruption at the Wicked red carpet event in Singapore when a social media creator broke through security and approached her.
According to witnesses, 26-year-old content creator Wen Johnson jumped a barricade and rushed toward Grande as she made her way down the carpet with her co-stars. Johnson placed an arm around the singer and began jumping excitedly while waving at the crowd.
Security personnel quickly intervened and restrained him. Co-star Cynthia Erivo also stepped in to help push the intruder away. Grande appeared visibly startled by the encounter but regained composure shortly afterward, continuing to greet fans as her castmates circled protectively around her.
On Monday, Johnson pleaded guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance and was sentenced to nine days in jail, Page Six reported. He has reportedly disrupted other celebrity events in the past.
During the hearing, Singapore District Judge Christopher Goh described the incident as “premeditated” and indicative of a behavioral pattern suggesting he might reoffend. “You seem to be attention-seeking, thinking only of yourself and not the safety of others when committing these acts,” Goh said, adding that Johnson should remember “there are always consequences for one’s actions.”
Johnson expressed remorse in court, stating he would not repeat such behavior.
