Arjun Kapoor Says He Signed for ‘Singham Again’ During A Challenging Period of His Life

Arjun Kapoor is receiving a lot of praise and attention for his performance as a villain in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The actor, who generally keeps a low profile, recently said he signed up for the role during a challenging period in his life.

When it comes to movies, he has not had much luck in recent years.This affected him to the extent that he stopped enjoying watching movies. He told The Hollywood Reporter India, “I stopped enjoying watching films. And I only know that. My life is all about movies. Suddenly, I'd watch other people's work and feel, ‘Will I be able to? Will I get a chance to?’”

He adds, “I've never been a bitter, negative person, but that started festering inside me in a very off way. He also admitted that he used to watch YouTube shorts to put himself to sleep, which is “not a nice place to be.” The only way to learn in the profession is “to watch, to interact, to be open, to be malleable”, he explained. He knew something had changed within him.

He consulted several therapists, however, things didn’t work out. Finally, he met a therapist who knew the problem. He was diagnosed with mild depression last year which was circumstantial. The actor also acknowledged that he has Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune chronic condition that affects the thyroid gland.

After the shooting for the film was completed, he took the necessary steps to take care of himself. He took therapy. He went abroad as well. He detoxed and cleansed his mindset. The actor acknowledged that he’s still work-in-progress, but he’s in a better place right now.

The actor is enjoying and savouring his success at the moment. Singham Again has earned ₹164 at the domestic box office within six days of release. The film also features Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Ravi Kishan, and Shweta Tiwari among others.
