Ashton Kutcher Testifies in the Hollywood Ripper Case

Actor Ashton Kutcher has given a complete account of what happened the night his ex-girlfriend-Ashley Ellerin was murdered in 2001. On Wednesday, in a Los Angeles court, Kutcher confessed that he arrived at Ellerin’s house between 10:30 and 10:45 in the night. He knocked on the door but no one answered. The lights in the house were left on while the door was locked.

He assumed that Ellerin who is a fashion student had gone out with a friend and she was upset with him. She had plans to meet Kutcher that night. When she didn’t answer the door, he peeped through a window before leaving. He saw red stains on the carpet and he assumed that they were red wine stains. This was not unusual as Ellerin used to have regular house parties.

“I saw what I thought was red wine spilled on the carpet,” he testified. “But that wasn’t alarming because I went to her house party [days before] and it was like a college party. I didn’t think much about it.”

During his testimony, Kutcher admitted that he was petrified the next day when he learned that Ashley Ellerin was murdered. Moreover, he had touched the doorknob and his fingerprints were on it. “My fingerprints are on this door and I was freaking out,” he testified. He then openly confessed what happened that night to an officer in the police station.

Ashton Kutcher has given his complete testimony and is not expected to testify again. He is one of the 100 witnesses that have given their testimonies or scheduled to give it sometime soon.

The Hollywood Ripper

Prosecutors state that Ashley Ellerin was murdered by Michael Gargiulo, also known as the ‘Hollywood Ripper.’ He entered Ashley Ellerin’s house and stabbed her 47 times and almost decapitated her. Michael Gargiulo was an airconditioner repairman by profession and it is believed that he had done some work in Ellerin’s home.

Michael Gargiulo’S first victim was his neighbour; 18-year-old Tricia Pacaccio whom he stabbed 47 times at her backdoor step in Chicago in 1993. On February 21, 2001, he stabbed 22-year-old Ashley Ellerin 47 times in her home in Los Angeles. On December 1, 2005, he stabbed his 32-year-old neighbour Maria Bruno 17 times in her home in El Monte, California.

He attempted to murder 27-year-old Michelle Murphy in April 2008 in California but she survived.

Michael has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and an attempted murder between 2001 to 2008. He is charged separately for the murder of 18-year-old Tricia Pacaccio.

Prosecutors have described Michael Gargiulo as a “serial sexual-thrill killer” who got pleasure killing beautiful women. The prosecutors are seeking death penalty for him.
