The Duchess of Sussex, 37, was seen at the Animal Charity Mayhew on Wednesday looking radiant as ever. Thanks to her surprise baby bump. The mom-to-be was excited and happy to meet several dogs at Mayhew for which she is the official patron. Not to forget the puppies and dogs looked equally smitten by her royal charms. Meghan was taken up by a special dog; a Jack Russell Terrier named Minnie. She was curious to know more about Minnie and whether she was up for adoption.

The cute pup was up for adoption according to the CEO Caroline Yates. Speaking of Meghan’s interaction with the dogs, Caroline Yates said that Meghan was “very natural with the dogs, as one needs to be.”

As Meghan bent down to pick up the pup and give her a cuddle she said, “Hopefully she’ll be adopted today, when everyone sees her.” Though Meghan was absolutely smitten by the pup, she said, “We can’t take another dog before the baby as our hands are too full!”

The Duchess has always been an animal lover. She already has dogs and even when she was in Toronto she had two dogs of her own namely Guy (Beagle) and Bozart. When it was time to relocate to London Meghan took Guy along with her but she had to part with Bozart and gifted it to her friends instead.

The staff in Mayhew looked absolutely delighted interacting with Meghan Markle. She toured the facilities of Mayhew located in the British Capital’s Kensal Rise neighborhood.  She visited the members and animals that benefitted from the organization. Some of the care home residents suffering from dementia received therapy from a dog called ‘Roobarb’ in the form of emotional support.

Meghan was also seen petting the dogs of former homeless individuals who were helped by Mayhew animal welfare workers. Meghan learned about different kinds of projects run by the charity to help both people and animals. She learned about the various projects which included work with homeless people and pets, animal therapy visits and rabies vaccinations in Kabul.

Markle who is an advocate of “adopt, don’t shop” was quite impressed with Mayhew’s work much earlier. She had visited the community center previously and it took only one visit for her to go forward with the patronage. Though Mayhew is a small organization, its operations are carried in Afghanistan, Georgia, Russia and India. With the involvement of the Royal Duchess, Mayhew hopes to do much more in the years to come.
