Ayaan Hashmi’s Powerful Speech on Cancer Is Going Viral for the Right Reasons
His speech on World Cancer Day for the Nargis Dutt Foundation is going viral and for good reasons.
Children can sometimes be one of our greatest teachers in life. They can take you off guard by their inspiring words leaving you ascertaining how they are bestowed with such worldly knowledge. This also holds for Emran Hashmi’s son Ayaan - a cancer survivor.
His speech on World Cancer Day for the Nargis Dutt Foundation is going viral and for good reasons. The speech was motivating and we are sure that people battling the disease would have gained strength from the words coming from a ten-year-old boy.
Sonali Bendre who attended the event was inspired by Ayaan; she even gave him a standing ovation. In appreciation of his inspiring speech, Sonali wrote a beautiful post dedicated to the brave boy.
She wrote, “I met my youngest motivator, Ayaan Hashmi, who is just 10 years old and is truly a canvas of positivity!
The way he spoke about his journey was far beyond his age! You’ve got a warrior.”
Ayaan was diagnosed with cancer when he was only four years. He suffered for five long years before finally becoming cancer-free in 2019. “I'm over here to tell you one thing - cancer is horrible in so many ways. But it has taught me so much - how to be strong, joyful and enjoy life”, he said in his childlike tone.
He added, “It hurts you mentally and physically but after I survived cancer, my whole life has changed. It taught me 'I was strong, I was a fearless leader'.”
Ayaan’s inspiring speech just goes to prove that children who are victims of cancer have the same degree of suffering as adults or probably more.
In their case, the tender souls won’t even know how to express their suffering which makes it worse. Thus, the psychological effects of cancer might be far worse when compared to adults as at that age they are not equipped with the emotional strength to handle something as big as Cancer.
Not to forget the road is not easy for the parents of the victims. While speaking to Amitabh Bachchan in one of the episodes of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Emraan said that his son’s remission phase, during which there is a chance of the disease to come back, was the toughest.
The disease causes a fear psychosis. “The whole process is psychologically disturbing," IANS quoted him as saying.
We are glad that the young warrior has been finally cured. It is commendable of youngsters like Ayaan who not only have survived cancer but they are encouraging other victims through their inspiring words.
Ayaan Hashmi ended the speech with these powerful words, “For (fighting) cancer, you only need a few qualities which I think everyone over here has. You need to be strong, fearless and a fighter. To end my speech, I will say one sentence: Cancer is curable. Thank you.”
