Bank Scam: Fake SBI Duped People of Lakhs in Chattisgarh

Bank scams have increased dominantly over the period leading to immense security issues among the customers. In an even more shocking incident, a fake State Bank of India branch was exposed in Chattisgarh. The scam was so big that fake appointments of employment were raised.

Chappora Village situated at 250 KM from Raipur was the targeted area of the scammers. The fake bank had recruited 6 people who were convinced the roles were real. The scammers had charged exorbitant prices against jobs at one of the most prestigious banks in India. The bank opened 10 days ago where they had an office setup and furniture that replicated any SBI branch of India.

The villagers were assured that the branch was like any other branch that was available in the state and began with their regular transactions and account opening. Similarly, the employees were quite joyful about having their jobs secured. The fates turned when Police and SBI central officers landed for interrogation after finding out the branch and the appointment letters were fake.

A SBI branch was situated in Dabra where the manager raised suspicion about the Chappora Branch. "The manager of the Dabra branch informed us of his suspicion regarding a fake bank operating in Chhapora. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the bank was fake, and several employees had been appointed with counterfeit documents," claimed senior police officials.

The employment offers made were charged for 2 lakhs to 6 lakhs which was paid by many people in order to obtain the jobs. Ajay Kumar Agarwal had applied at the SBI kiosk for a job at Chappora after he found a new branch being settled overnight. Upon growing suspicion, he informed the matter to Debra's branch manager.
