Benedict Cumberbatch, the Onscreen Doctor Strange Saves a Cyclist Who was Attacked by Muggers

The Marvel reel-life hero saves a 'Deliveroo' cyclist in real life. A true hero indeed!

Benedict Cumberbatch, the Onscreen Doctor Strange Saves a Cyclist Who was Attacked by Muggers

Doctor Strange is living upto his character as a Marvel Avenger. Nowadays, it is difficult to find an actor who actually cares about others than themselves. These days as people are becoming more self-centered, Benedict Cumberbatch, finding a lone cyclist in trouble in London, goes and saves him from four muggers.

Benedict was in a cab when he happened to notice a grocery delivery cyclist being attacked by four robbers. The actor did not hesitate to get out of his secure cab and help ward off four ruffians. The fact that they were four and he was one did not stop him from helping the cyclist. Let us not forget, he did not have his Doctor Strange magic to help him out. He used his tough voice and told the muggers to –"Leave him alone." That doesn’t sound much of a threat, but it worked wonders. At least they let go of the victim and his things. They fled the scene and are still at large.

The whole drama unfolded before the eyes of the cab driver named Manuel Dias. According to him, Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter were traveling along London’s Marylebone High Street when they happened to notice a Deliveroo cyclist being hit with a bottle. The victim was being attacked by four muggers. In the driver’s words, "I had hold of one lad and Benedict another," said Dias. "He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He was very brave. He did most of it, to be honest...They tried to hit him but he defended himself and pushed them away. He wasn’t injured. Then I think they also recognized it was Benedict and ran away." The cab driver also added, "Benedict was courageous, brave and selfless," added Dias. "If he hadn’t stepped in the cyclist could have been seriously injured. He asked the rider how he was and when he said, ‘I’m OK’ Benedict just hugged him."

Very rarely do we hear about reel life heroes turning into real-life heroes. Had things gone wrong it could have been dangerous.

Coincidently the whole episode took place a short distance away from 221B Baker Street, the address of the great Sherlock Holmes whose character was played by Cumberbatch.

The Marvel Avenger doesn’t consider himself a hero. He said, 'I did it out of, well, I had to, you know..."

Meanwhile, Deliveroo sent a thank you message on Benedict’s Twitter account. The message read, "Thank you Benedict Cumberbatch for your brave actions. Deliveroo riders are heroes - their safety is our priority and any violence against them is totally unacceptable. So on behalf of everyone at deliveroo: thank you.”

We would also like to thank the hero for his unselfish heroic action.
