Bengali Actress Pallabi Dey Found Hanging at Her Kolkata Apartment
Bengali television actress Pallabi Dey was found hanging at her residence in Kolkata on Sunday. She played the lead in several Bengali soaps such as 'Kunja Chhaya', 'Resham Jhapi' and most recently 'Mon Mane Na'.
The famous Bengali television series actress, Pallabi Dey, was found dead on Sunday in mysterious circumstances at her South Kolkata rented place where she used to live with her boyfriend Shagnik Chakraborty.
Her hanging body was first found by Chakraborty, who reported it to police.
He told police that on Sunday morning, he went out to buy cigarettes. When he returned, he found her body hanging.
The police sent the body for autopsy.
"Prima facie, it looks like a suicide. However, a final conclusion can only be made after the autopsy report is available. We started the investigation after filing a case of unnatural death, ”said the detective.
It has emerged that the deceased actor has been living in a rented area in South Kolkata since April 24 this year.
Her boyfriend, Shagnik Chakraborty, lived with him in the same place from the beginning.
His friends and colleagues in the Bengali television industry have expressed shock at the development, while no one can find a reason for the move.
Pallabi Dey was well-known among Bengali television fans for her roles in the series "Ami Sirajer Begum" and "Mon Mane Na".
"We are exploring the case from all angles. As of now, we are talking to her partner to understand the sequence of incidents. More details will be available only after the post-mortem report arrives," the police officer added.
