Salim Khan, aged 27, tried to board a Lucknow-bound flight from Pune International Airport in the early hours of 11th August. The officials at Pune airport said Salim’s friend had helped him obtain a fake ticket for his trip.
Salim was apprehended by the CISF kiosk when he produced a fake travel ticket. As the details of his PNR and the existing records did not match, CISF had to stop him from entering the airport. Upon questioning, he revealed that he had come to drop off his father. The PNR on his father’s ticket was genuine however, he had a bonus PNR number.
Airport police identified Salim to be a Biryani seller based out of Virar before moving to Pune, Chinchwad. Despite not having any criminal record, Salim was arrested because of his forgery. Airport authorities take such concerns seriously as it can affect the safety of the passengers.
In an investigation, it was found that Salim had purchased the ticket from his friend Naseruddin for just 6,500 Rupees. A case has been registered against Salim and his ally Naseruddin under Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.
