Body Found in Suitcase in Tirupati Belongs to Hyderabad Techie

The charred body that was found in a suitcase in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh has been confirmed to be a 27-year-old techie’s body from Hyderabad. The victim Bhuvaneshwari’s death is said to be a murder.  

She was working from home in Tirupati due to the pandemic and was living with her husband and her 18-month-old baby. Her husband Maramreddy Sreekanth Reddy had been without a job for a couple of months. He was an engineer by profession and was also associated with an online organization that fights corruption. 

Apparently the couple often had arguments. Cops said that Sreekanth may have killed his wife in a fit of rage, packed her body in a suitcase and got rid of the suitcase in an isolated spot near SVRR hospital on June 23. 

Maramreddy Sreekanth Reddy is the prime suspect as CCTV footage of Sreekanth shows him rolling a big red suitcase into their apartment with one hand while holding his daughter in the other. He’s again seen rolling out the suitcase from the room that seems to be heavy. 

Tirupati Urban Police Chief Ramesh Reddy said: “The body was 90 percent burnt. Sreekanth bought a big suitcase at Reliance Mart and that is suspected to have been used for the purpose of packing the body. He later tried to burn the body.”

The body was unrecognizable however forensic experts confirmed that it belonged to a woman who was in her 30s. 

Sreekanth told relatives that Bhuvaneshwari died due to Covid. Relatives tried searching for her body in several morgues and hospitals. Further investigations are on.
