The teams, Brazil and Belgium ranked second and third in the world football arena will be face to face today in the second quarter final in the World Cup.  Both the teams are strong contenders this time which is evident from the performance of the players so far.

Belgium have scored more number of goals than Brazil so far. They have scored 12 goals which is more than any team has scored in this tournament. Striker Romelu Lukaku, who is also the sixth most expensive player at the World Cup, has scored a maximum of four goals in total. During their match with Japan, Belgium have also shown they are capable of scoring different types of goals.

Today, in the match against Brazil, the attackers will be faced by world’s best defense too. Brazil team has a number of attacking talent but the team is also built around defenses.

In this match, all eyes are on Neymar no doubt. The performance of Neymar is scoring for Brazil as well as thrilling for the spectators. His performance so far is excellent. Back to field after three months injury, he has scored 24 shots in Russia, which is the most of any player in the world cup. In the last match win against Mexico, he showed his best, scoring a well-crafted goal and assisting another beautiful goal.

As Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are out of the World cup, the stage is all set for Neymar. He has been criticized in several occasions for his performances after being fouled, but he is one of the best when his perform well.

With midfield enforcer Casemiro out, Brazil will have to depend on Fernandinho to choke De Bruyne. Both the players are again Manchester City teammates and therefore must know each other’s techniques well. But Brazil must stop Kevin De Bruyne. On the contrary, he is also one of the five Belgian players who can be suspended if he picks up a yellow card.

On the other hand, Belgium would have reached the final without playing with any previous winners if they would have lost to England. Now they will have to play with five-time winners of the World Cup, Brazil and if they advance, they will have to face two-time winners Uruguay or World Champions of 1998, France.

The attraction of today’s match will be on the field with three most expensive players, who will be on the show. The Belgium team with first 11 players are capable of matching with any team of the world. On the other hand, Brazil team is the tournament’s favorite. If Belgium beat Brazil in the match, they’ll be included in the list of prospective contenders, as the World Champions this year.

As both the teams are strong contenders to claim their win, the match between the two is no doubt going to be more thrilling and one can also expect a draw with Brazil, winning on penalties.
