China Training Its Pilots to Target US

The United States has always been a rival to China, but China’s preparation to wage a war with the US is something, which is bothering everyone. As per the intelligence report, China is developing fleets to fire long-range bombers and are training its pilots for a special mission targeting the United States.

If reports released by Pentagon recently is to be believed, it says “Over the last three years, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has rapidly expanded its overwater bomber operating areas, gaining experience in critical maritime regions and likely training for strikes against US and allied targets”.

The Annual Report on Military and Security Developments Involving the People's Republic of China is a US government report, which records the details of Chinese military developments over the previous year.

This year's report also has observed that China is pursuing its nuclear capability on its long-range bombers. According to the report, “The deployment and integration of nuclear-capable bombers would, for the first time, provide China with a nuclear 'triad' of delivery systems dispersed across land, sea, and air”.

The President of China Xi Jinping in the last couple of years has taken many initiatives, to modernize China’s armed forces, throwing out corrupt officers in the ranks and updating the military hardware. The report also says that the PLA is undergoing, “the most comprehensive restructure in its history to become a force capable of fighting joint operations”.

China is also working on a “stealthy, long-range strategic bomber with a nuclear delivery capability that could be operational within the next 10 years” along with the bombers it already operates. It is also a threat to the country that shares the border with China, such as India.

In a show of the strength and its expanding reach, in the month May, for the first time, the Chinese military landed nuclear capable H-6K bombers on one of their artificial islands in the South China Sea.

In a statement released by China, reacting on US concern over China’s growing military plans, Chinese Ministry of Defense spokesman Wu Qiang said, “the United States was full of Cold War mentality. A man cannot prosper without honesty, the same is true for a country. We urge the US to stick to its promises to China regarding Taiwan question, and uphold the one-China policy”.

The report also came at a time when the relationship between the United States and China is heightened with tensions, amidst an escalating trade war and disagreements over China’s actions in Taiwan and the South China Sea and also in influencing North Korea over Korean Peninsula.
