Chinese Couple Wins Hearts by Marrying at Dog Shelter with 200 Rescued Dogs as Guests

A lovely couple in China is melting hearts everywhere after they tied the knot in a dog shelter! Their wedding was a joyful event, with 200 adorable rescued dogs and 300 compassionate volunteers in attendance.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yang, 31, faced tough times in his business and had to sell his belongings, including his house and two cars, to cover debts and support his employees. But this experience sparked a strong passion for rescuing dogs.

Yang has a special connection to animals, having lost five puppies to illness when he was a child. This loss inspired him to open an animal shelter. “At that time, I had only 23 yuan left in my pocket; that was all the money I had for the shelter,” he shared.

He used his savings to start the shelter, which began with just ten animals. Yang reached out to the community for help and started recruiting dedicated volunteers. Zhao, 25, came on board as a volunteer in 2022 while she was in university.

With great love for dogs, she even donated her part-time earnings to buy dog food. As they worked side by side, their friendship blossomed into love.

Wanting to celebrate their special day surrounded by furry friends, Yang and Zhao said their vows on May 25, sharing the moment with their beloved dogs. The unique wedding idea quickly captured the hearts of many online.
