Chinese Woman with Multiple Passports Arrested from Trump’s Resort

When US President Donald Trump was holidaying at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last weekend, the security officials arrested a Chinese woman with multiple passports, cellphones and a thumb drive containing malware, from the same location.

According to an arrest document presented at the federal district court of Palm Beach in Florida, the woman named Zhang Yujing while she was trying to enter Mar-a-Lago resort was arrested on Saturday. She was presenting herself as a member of the resort and was trying to enter the swimming pool, when declined she claimed to be attending a Chinese-American friendship event.

When she was detained and questioned, she came out with another story, that she was invited by a Chinese friend named Charles to travel from Shanghai to attend the event and speak to the family members of the US President about US-China economic relations.

According to US Secret Service, the woman was carrying two passports from the People’s Republic of China. The Secret service also recovered four cellphones; a laptop, an external hard drive and a thumb drive which contained malicious software, ‘malware’ from her possession.

Zhang was later arrested and charged with making false statements to federal officers and knowingly tried to enter a restricted building while US President Donald Trump is in residence.

US President Donald Trump owns this luxurious beachside resort in the Atlantic coast city of Palm Beach and frequently travels there on weekends to meet his close friends and play golf.

Though he keeps a residence in a private area of the resort, around the time the Chinese woman was detained, he was reportedly playing golf at a nearby course.

According to security experts, there is a specific motive behind this incident of the woman trying to enter the resort, as there was no event like Chinese American Friendship Event scheduled at the resort as mentioned by the Chinese woman, which raised suspicions.

Meanwhile, the Miami Herald has reported that two events had been recently advertised at Mar-a-Lago for March 30 by a local Chinese-American businesswoman, Cindy Yang, on Chinese language social media.

Cindy Yang is a member of Mar-a-Lago, who founded and later sold a chain of massage parlors in Florida, which was recently raided by police over prostitution.

In recent years she has promoted herself as someone close to the US president and his family. Cindy Yang’s website also featured pictures of her with President Donald Trump, his family members and some senior administration officials. An event promoter named Charles Lee is also associated with Yang.
