Cities on High Alert after Pahalgam Terror Attack

The Pahalgam Terror attack has become a fiery instance for many people across India, and many are considering this a security lapse. While a LeT-based agency has claimed responsibility for the attacks, the loss of the motherland is being grieved from all parts of India. India will retaliate in its way and will finish terrorism once and for all, claimed Prime Minister Modi after 26 civilians were killed in an Ambush.

After the attack, metro cities were placed on high alert because of a probable security threat. Although there is no threat or warning of such signs, the cities will, however, maintain added security in response to Pahalgam. Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, and Amritsar have been placed on high alert.

The attack happned in an area which is high in altitude and can also be accessed by a trek or a pony ride. Security forces have been ramped up since there can be more attacks, also the place has been barred from visiting by tourists until the situations come under control. The President of the United States, JD Vance, has visited India and will be visiting many different cities, for which security has been further enhanced. Militants may have a firm plan for a possible attack that can disrupt the relations between the countries. The national capital of India, Delhi, is being made the most secure area as the President of the USA will be residing in Delhi.

Public places across the cities and tourist hotspots have been ramped up with security. Traffic is being regulated in many places across the cities. The crowd is being controlled, and police have been deployed in the areas where the crowd is highly concentrated. Nakabandis have also been established to perform a brisk check of the individuals and the cars. "All senior Police Inspectors (SPIs) and Zonal Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) are instructed to remain more alert and vigilant in their jurisdictions," claimed a senior police official.

Soon after the attack, Home Minister Amit Shah reached the location and ordered a high-level meeting with the CRPF, Army, and the Jammu & Kashmir Police to check the preparedness in terms of operations, and also ordered to deployment of immediate counterterror operations. Prime Minister Modi was in Saudi Arabia when the incident happned. He cut short his trip and reached India to hold a cabinet meeting to assess the current situation.

The group Kashmir Resistance, a group led by Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the incident. Investigating agencies are working tirelessly to trace the people associated with the group and are trying to nab them. Prime Minister Modi is coming up with a strategy to counter terrorism and militant acitivty in the area.
