The arrest of a 22-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi from Bengaluru by the Delhi Police has sparked nationwide outrage.
She was arrested by the cybercrime unit of Delhi from her home in North Bengaluru on Saturday for allegedly sharing the toolkit related to the farmers’ protest against the government’s agricultural laws on social media.
The toolkit contains information about the farmers’ protests and details on how to support the protest online as well as how to join the rallies.
According to police Disha Ravi is the “key conspirator in the document’s formulation and dissemination.”
She edited the toolkit online which contained details about the farmers’ protest and which was shared by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter.

Politicians, activists, and other prominent personalities have condemned the arrest. Her arrest has attracted numerous comments from the online community both in India and abroad.
Disha, 22, is a graduate of Mount Carmel College in Bangalore. She is the founder of 'Fridays for Future India', which is part of the international protest network founded by Greta Thunberg that focuses and works on climate change.
