Country Music Legend Naomi Judd Passes away at 76

Country music star Naomi Judd passed away at the age of 76 near Nashville, Tennessee.  

Naomi Judd along with her daughter Wynonna Judd was part of the famous musical band ‘The Judds.’ 

Ironically Naomi passed away the day before her band was to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. 

Her daughters actor Ashley Judd and Wynonna Judd posted a joint statement on their Instagram accounts on Saturday that read, “ Today we sisters experienced a tragedy.”

“We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”

“We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by the public.”

Naomi is said to have developed depression, anxiety and panic attacks. 

No further details have been revealed about her health condition.

The mother and daughter duo established a very successful singing career in a span of 40 years.

Besides being bestowed with numerous popular awards, they won five Grammy Awards and recorded 14 number one songs. 

Some of the pair's most popular songs include 'Love Can Build A Bridge', 'Mama He's Crazy' and 'Girls' Night Out.'

The band abruptly came to an end in 1991 when Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, however their farewell concert was the most successful musical event in cable pay per view history. 

The singing pair were planning to begin their final tour in September.
