Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Gerd Muller's Headed Goal Record in Al Nassr's 4-1 Win over Monastir

Cristiano Ronaldo achieved yet another remarkable milestone as Al Nassr secured a convincing 4-1 victory over US Monastir in the Arab Club Champions Cup game at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Ronaldo's clinical header in the 74th minute marked his 145th headed goal, making him the highest-ever scorer in football history, surpassing Gerd Muller's previous record of 144 goals. This significant achievement sparked jubilation among the fans in attendance.

Al Nassr displayed their attacking prowess from the onset, with former Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic and ex-Lens captain Seko Fofana orchestrating their moves. The breakthrough came in the 42nd minute, courtesy of Abdulrahman Ghareeb, who skillfully assisted Anderson Talisca in opening the scoring.

An unfortunate own goal by Al Nassr's defender, Ali Lajami, resulted in the equalizer for Monastir, six minutes after the hour-mark.

However, Ronaldo's extraordinary performance turned the game in Al Nassr's favor, as he netted his 839th career goal, solidifying his status as a football legend.

With the game firmly under their control, Al Nassr sealed their first win in the tournament, with Abdulelah Al-Amri and Abdulaziz Saud Al Elewai scoring two goals in quick succession during the final moments.

This victory propelled Al Nassr to the top of their group in the King Salman Club Cup, level on points with Al Shabab, but ahead on goal difference. For Ronaldo's team, it brings relief after mixed outcomes against European teams, including two heavy defeats against Benfica and Celta Vigo.

On the other hand, Monastir finds itself at the bottom of the table, being the only team in their group without a single point. Al Nassr's next challenge will be against Egyptian side Zamalek SC in the last round of group-stage matches on Thursday, while Monastir will face Al Shabab.
