Cristiano Ronaldo Quits Real Madrid to Join Juventus

Ronaldo and Real Madrid are to part ways as he will be signing for Italian champions Juventus. Both the clubs announced this news finally after a lot of murmurs going on since the last match of Portugal in the World Cup 2018.

Sources say that the nine year’s spell of Ronaldo over Real Madrid will come to an end due to tiff relating to his contract. Reportedly, the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, and Ronaldo could not nod a yes together over the new contract. As per a statement of Champions League official, Real Madrid communicated the news that CR7 has expressed his desire to be transferred to Juventus FC and the authorities have agreed upon the fact.

As per the reports, Ronaldo has signed a contract of 4 years with Juventus and the clubs are bearing a transfer fee of €100 million while Juventus is paying an ancillary fee of €12 million to get Ronaldo on board. As per the sources, the transfer is not just for a financial leap of the 33-year-old player. Real Madrid were willing to offer a gross of €55 million annually which is same as Juventus but still, the player chose to leave Real Madrid. Sources confirm that in comparisons with fellow football stars like Messi and Neymar, Ronaldo’s gross salary was less and when Ronaldo quitted from Real Madrid he was on a contract which was not ending before 3 years. As per records, the last gross of Ronaldo was €38.5 million while Neymar standing at €66 million and Messi at €73.6 million.

Ronaldo has been the top goal scorer and has secured four Champions League titles for his team Real Madrid. The list includes personal accolades and five Ballon d'Or awards among which four was while being with Real Madrid.

As per sources, Ronaldo said being in the team all these years was spending some of the happiest years of his life and he has great gratitude for the club, the fans, and the city. He thanks all for all the support and love he received in these years. He also added that this is the right time, to begin with, a new phase of life and that’s the reason why he has asked the club to approve the transfer. A report from a trusted source says that after the last contract signed in November 2016, the president of the club Perez assured that there will be a new contract after the club’s winning at Champions League in May 2017. But nothing happened. Ronaldo also demanded a raise after the Club World Cup win and that too was not sanctioned. Reportedly, due to such betrayal from the authorities, Ronaldo took the decision to shift to a new club.

As per reports, there might be another reason why Ronaldo is not willing to be a part of Spain anymore. Reportedly, a tax case was filed a month back and for the settlement of that, the player had to agree on the payment of €18.8 million to the government.

Sources say that Ronaldo will now be entrusted with the responsibility bring the trophy of Champions League for Juventus. The team has been winning the domestic league for consecutive 7 years now.
