Deepika Padukone Makes History as First Indian Actress to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Deepika Padukone has made history by becoming the first Indian actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as part of the prestigious Class of 2026.

Her name has been selected in the ‘Motion Pictures’ category.

She joins a stellar list of prominent personalities from the fields of music, film, television, live theatre/performance, and sports entertainment.

Other notable honorees in the 2026 Walk of Fame Class include Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet, Hollywood actress Emily Blunt, French actress Marion Cotillard, Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, Italian actor Franco Nero, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The honorees were selected by the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from among ​“hundreds” of nominations during a meeting held on June 20.

“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026,” said Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee, in a statement.

Following the announcement, Deepika Padukone posted the word "Gratitude" in her Instagram stories, as the news of her selection went viral.

According to the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website: “The recipient has up to two years to schedule their ceremony. If it is not done within the two-year period, it will expire and the application must be resubmitted.”

Located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, the Walk of Fame currently features approximately 2,700 stars, celebrating artists and entertainers from around the world who have left a significant impact on the industry.
