“We want to, we have to, care for the environment”, goes a 10-year-old lad calling out on the streets of Columbia. A cute face with specs hanging upon the little nose, yes, he is leading a fight against this rapid climate change.
Meet Francisco Javier Vera, and he is a climate change activist.
Following in the footsteps of 13-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg this little boy with a far-fetching vision has recently caught national attention when he spoke before the Columbian Senate.
“Today, I came to represent my group Guardianes por la vida to ask everyone to take consciousness of the damage we’ve caused the environment, you and me, the damage we’ve caused, I ask you, as senators of the republic… legislate for our lives. For example, go against fracking campaigns, animal testing, single-use plastic and the mistreatment of animals. We are, in my opinion, unfairly tasked as children to fight for our planet.”
Every Friday, little Francisco and his friends gather outside the local govt. office demanding immediate climate action. His protest is against plastic waste and any sort of social behaviour that can worsen the climatic conditions.
Actor turned Environmentalist recently shared Francisco’s demonstration and efforts to save the climate of this only planet we have in this entire universe! Caprio added, “This 10-year-old is leading the fight against climate change in Colombia - on the streets and in the Senate.
