Disney Star Cameron Boyce Dies at the Age of 20 Years

Young Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce who also appeared in the Adam Sandler films died on Saturday at age 20 years.

In a statement released by Boyce family, they first declared the news, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep because of a seizure, which was a result of his ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated”

The Statement also added, “The world is undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights now, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and request for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother”.

Cameron Boyce was born in Los Angeles and started acting before he was 10 years old. He scored his first recurring role in the year 2008 on “General Hospital: Night Shift”. He later became a very popular face of Disney Channel, where he was best known for his roles as Carlos in the fantasy TV film franchise “Descendants” and as Luke Ross in the Disney Channel’s family sitcom “Jessie”. He also appeared in “Grown Ups” film series along with Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Salma Hayek.

As the news of his death unfolded, several celebrities posted tributes to the young actor on social media.

Sandler wrote along with a black-and-white photo of Boyce, “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Nicest, talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, dear Cameron, for all that you gave to us”.

Skai Jackson, who played his sister on “Jessie”, posted several photos of herself with Boyce on Instagram. She also wrote, “I don’t know how and where to start. I am at a loss for words. Thank you so much for being there as the big brother I never had. I am so distraught and I can’t stop crying!

In an interview in the year 2017, he told Teen Vogue that he also has other ambitions to explore other aspects of the arts, such as poetry and photography.

Born to a Jewish mother and a black father, Cameron Boyce was an advocate for on-screen diversity.

He then told Teen Vogue, “There is a lot of people in Hollywood who don’t look like me or don’t have similar features like me. When it is a lead (role), it’s very hard to come by. We sort of are working to change that. That is something that is very important to everyone with color, a minority. It is very important for people (to) not only see in Hollywood and feel represented but also sort of even the playing field a bit”.

Boyce also had a philanthropic side he used his large social media audience that includes more than 10 million Instagram followers to raise a fund amount $27,000 in just 40 days for the Thirst Project, that ensures clean water to developing countries.
