Ed Sheeran Bonds with Shah Rukh Khan and Arijit Singh during Musical Journey Through India
Ed Sheeran recently visited India, where he met Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and singer Arijit Singh, sparking cross-cultural musical moments ahead of his upcoming single Sapphire.
During his India visit, Ed Sheeran met Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan and renowned playback singer Arijit Singh. The trio was seen bonding over music, coffee, and spontaneous jam sessions. In one widely shared video, Shah Rukh Khan surprises Sheeran by singing the hook line of his upcoming track Sapphire, sneaking up behind him during a casual recording session. In another candid image, Sheeran and Arijit stand aboard a barge while the latter enjoys a cup of coffee, a serene moment that reflects the cultural fusion of the meet-up.
The Shape of You hitmaker also took time to appreciate India’s vibrant film industry, visiting the grand sets of Baahubali. “I watched Baahubali in the cinema, so flipped out seeing the set,” Sheeran shared in an Instagram post, where he also revealed his excitement about exploring Indian sounds and traditions.
On social media, Sheeran posted a carousel of moments from the trip, captioned:

One heartwarming highlight from his trip included a surprise appearance at a local college where students were performing one of his songs. Sheeran joined the crowd, recorded the performance, and later posed for photos with the young musicians.
Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran was in India for the Mathematics Tour, performing in cities including Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong. His return to the country this spring seems to be part of his global outreach in preparation for his upcoming album Play, due out on September 12, 2025.
His next single, Sapphire, is set to release on June 5, further cementing Sheeran’s recent deep connection with Indian music and culture.
