People are curious to know how the star died, especially since he was only 54 years old.

Matthew Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his residence in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. He reportedly died due to drowning. No drugs were found in the scene while foul play is not suspected as of now.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office said that the toxicology tests are pending and hence the cause of the death still remains unknown
For the unversed, Matthew Perry battled alcohol and prescription drug addiction for years. This was revealed in his 2022 memoir ‘FRIENDS’, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.’ The alcohol addictions began in the early stages of his life which progressed gradually.
In 2019, photographs emerged that showed what had become of the handsome and quick-witted “Chandler Bing.” Fans were also concerned about his well being when he appeared in the 2021 FRIENDS’ reunion.
In 1997 Matthew experienced a Jetski accident which changed his life forever. He was prescribed Vicodin. The drug made him feel better like never before. He couldn’t stop taking Vicodin. This coupled with alcohol addiction proved to be a deadly combination for Matthew.
Perry somehow kicked the habit however he acknowledged that it was the most difficult thing to do. He went to rehab in 1997. The rehab stints happened a few times. His health began declining due to various illnesses such as pancreatitis.
The star however overcame the habit of alcoholism. In 2015 Matthew Perry got the Phoenix Rising Award for helping others struggling with alcohol addiction.
The actor has been through a lot. We don’t know exactly how he died till the toxicity reports are out. However, his struggle with addictions played a big role in the decline of his mental and physical health.
