Firing Takes Place Outside Salman Khan’s Residence; Police Identify Accused

Police are on the lookout for the culprits who opened fire outside Salman Khan’s residence Galaxy Apartments on Sunday. 

Several bullets and bullet pellets were found outside the residence of the actor. The incident took place at 5 am in Bandra. Some reports stated that the actor was at home when the incident took place.

The accused were carrying backpacks and wore caps. 

According to latest reports police have identified the accused. They have been booked for attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act.

Raj Tilak Roushan, DCP Mumbai, told news agency ANI, “Today at around 5 am, two unidentified people opened fire outside the house of actor Salman Khan in Bandra. Police have received information about 3 rounds of firing. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway in the case. No one was injured in the firing incident.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has spoken to Salman Khan and the Mumbai Police Commissioner regarding the incident. 

News is coming in that the two men behind the shooting belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and they are from Gurugram, Haryana. 

Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi has claimed responsibility for the shooting through a facebook post and described it as a “preview.” The task of selecting the shooters was entrusted upon Rohit Godara who is also based in America. Rohit holds a key position in the Bishnoi gang. 

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in Tihar Jail for his involvement in high profile murder cases including the recent murder of musician Sidhu Moose Wala.

Twenty police teams are searching for the accused. 

Security has stepped up around Salman Khan’s house. No one was injured during the shooting.
