Fresh CCTV Footage Deepens Investigation into Delhi Blast Case
New CCTV visuals of Umar Un Nabi, financial trails, and emerging suspects deepen the Delhi blast probe, revealing surveillance awareness, explosive procurement, and extensive damage as police intensify searches and detentions.
New CCTV footage emerging from New Delhi has added a crucial layer to the ongoing blast investigation, capturing the main accused, Umar Un Nabi, entering the city early Monday morning. A sizable bag is clearly visible on the rear seat of the vehicle, which investigators suspect contained the improvised explosive device that later detonated. The revelation has intensified the inquiry, prompting authorities to widen their search network.
A lookout circular is now being prepared to trace another suspected link in the chain, Muzaffar. His name surfaced while officers sifted through digital conversations between Umar and his Turkiye-based handler, Ukasa. These encrypted chats point to Muzaffar's possible presence in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar region after he reportedly fled India in August. “He is a doctor and the brother of an arrested accused named Adeel. He acted as an intermediary, a bridge of sorts, between the module members and the handler,” one investigator explained. The current probe delves into financial and logistical exchanges among Umar and his associates, Muzammil, Adeel, and Shaheen.
Another startling visual emerges from CCTV: Umar manually pays toll at the Badarpur border plaza, timestamped 8:02am on November 10. Diving an i20, masked and composed, he looks directly into the cameras multiple times. Officers believes this deliberated gaze signals that Umar was aware of possible surveillance and attempted to gauge whether security agencies were tracking him. Additional footage of the same car at Connaught Place has also come to light, strengthening the investigative cartography of his movements.
Financial scrutiny revealed that the group allegedly amassed nearly Rs 25 Lakh, handed over to Umar for procuring IED components. They reportedly bought about 20 quintals of NPK fertilizer worth approximately analyzing Umar’s digital imprints, his mobile activity, UPI transactions, and secondary accounts, o assemble a more granulated picture of the operation.
In a parallel development, police detained 5–6 individuals—including Umar’s relative, Faheem, for further questioning. Faheem is believed to have parked the red EcoSport in Khandwali, Faridabad, a detail now deemed instrumental in tracing the movement of suspects.
Inspections at the blast site continued through Thursday, with officers examining the Jain Temple area and nearby establishments for any overlooked remains. The explosion’s force was so severe that a severed arm landed atop a shop in Lajpat Rai Market, far from the epicenter. A portion of the Red Fort police post also suffered significant damage.
This evolving investigation continues to unravel a labyrinthine, sinuous, and cryptic network of individuals, motives, and movements, pushing authorities to pursue every lead with celerity and precision.
